What Is Immerse and Who Is It For?
Immerse is a language learning tool that’s built for those who want to dive deep into learning a new language and culture.
Designed for Full-Time Language Learners
Immerse is created specifically for people who are:
- Living in the country or region where the target language is spoken
- Treating language learning like a full-time job, spending 20–40 hours a week learning language
- Engaging with native speakers regularly, using real-life conversations to build skill and confidence
- Hoping to gain fluency in another language in a relatively short period of time. Most full-time users are able to achieve a very high level of language fluency within 2-4 years.
Immerse supports users by facilitating language learning in the real world — not through lectures or textbooks, but by building relationships and communicating with the people around them in a structured and systematic way.
How Immerse Works
Immerse guides learners through four levels of language development, with each level introducing broader and more complex communication skills. Users work through topics like:
- Vocabulary and grammar
- Asking and answering questions
- Describing processes and images
- Telling stories and recounting experiences
As learners progress, they become increasingly able to understand and speak the language with confidence.
Language learning with Immerse is a balance of learning from local people and working independently. Learners prepare their own lessons and guide their language helpers (native speakers) in how to assist them. Outside of these sessions, users spend time reviewing and reinforcing what they’ve learned using the app’s tools.
Immerse is based on the Becoming Equipped to Communicate curriculum, a language acquisition approach that has helped hundreds of learners become fluent in difficult languages within 2-4 years.
